Pan Peru USA was founded in 2018 by Pedro David Espinoza to empower women in Pampas Grande, a remote Andean village at 12,600 feet above sea level. Today, 75 women use their knitting and crochet skills to build their own businesses, crafting 100% handmade alpaca apparel for the global market. All proceeds from sales go directly to these women, providing them with economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.
Pampas Grande is the hometown of Pedro’s family, and Pan Peru USA is committed to supporting female entrepreneurs as they grow their ventures and create lasting change in their communities.
Pan Peru USA’s purpose is to empower low-income women in rural Peru through entrepreneurship. Our knitting artisans receive 100% of the profits from their handcrafted work and actively participate in business decision-making.
What began with just one female entrepreneur has grown into a community of 75 women. Through our training programs in product design, ideation, and design thinking, we equip them with the skills to build sustainable businesses and create lasting change in their communities.
Our vision is to equip and train 10,000 women to launch their own businesses, generate sustainable revenue, and scale their ventures. We aim to empower thousands of female entrepreneurs in the most indigenous, rural, and remote regions of the Peruvian Andes.
Through entrepreneurship education, we aspire to help these women build wealth, support their families with access to education and healthcare, and create lasting economic change in their communities.
